Recently the technical/Practitioner Support lines have recieved a number of calls where thier computers USB ports have stopped working, and the SCIO is not being recognized. We have traced the error back to a windows update that was released recently. We are currenlty tring to gather more information in order to troubleshoot this issue, and develop a fix. In order to prevent call overflows due to this issue, we are suggesting that everyone disable Automatic Updates until further notice. The following article will give you the steps to do this. This has been verfied through our entire support network, and should be implemented imediately. Possible Signs of this issue are: USB Ports not recognized, SCIO not recognized, Computer Shutting down when SCIO is plugged in. There could be other potential issues, if you are experiencing these issues, please contact out support team at. Do not be alarmed, just aware, and take the steps to ensure that this issue will not be a hinderance to your work in the field. To disable Automatic Updates: L.Click Start You are done! Just keep you eyes peeled for any updates to this article. |

An important message to all of our customers from the Budapest Home Office regarding the new Microsoft VISTA and the current Clasp software.
This is to inform all customers that the Clasp32 version 2-2-2007 is NOT compatible with the new Microsoft operating system VISTA .
Customers may find that they are able to install the software to some degree, or perhaps fully. However, when getting further into the program they won’t be able to utilize some or all of the programs.
The difficulty lies in that the program used to create the Clasp ( Delphi ) is coming out with a new version (7) to allow programs to be compatible with VISTA . This is due for release in April 2007. At that time, we will be able to work with VISTA and create a new Clasp32 that is compatible with VISTA . Please bear with us. The new Vistas is immune to viruses and has much more protection. This will improve your usage. We will have version 3-3 ready for you soon.
We hope that customers can continue to work with their current laptops/computers with Windows XP or other similar versions until such time that we are able to complete the re-programming to get the Clasp and VISTA to communicate properly.
